Every other Wednesday Maddie and I go to a New Mommy Support Group. It's free through the Loudoun Hospital here, and it's so great. We go with Laurie and Kaylie Kushin the weeks that I don't work. I love it, #1 because I get to hang out with Laurie, and #2 because I get to hear great advice and feel empathy from other moms going through the same situations that I am.
Here, Maddie and Kaylie are enjoying their time at Mommy group together. They were both laughing at Laurie. They are going to be best friends, I just know it!! :)
While at support group, we all go around the circle and share about our baby, and we have to end with a positive experience. My "positive" for this week was that Maddie is starting to try and roll over. She does a lot of hanging out on her side, sucking on her fingers, and almost makes it over to her belly before she rolls back onto her back. I think it's absolutely adorable! So, one of the mom's made the comment, "wouldn't it be great if she rolled over for the first time here!!" I just sort of chuckled and figured the chances of that happening were slim...
Well, right before we left, Maddie was hanging out on her blanket and she was doing her usual half roll, but was starting to get a lot of attention from the room of women. Then, all of a sudden, she was working real hard...AND SHE ROLLED OVER FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! It was so cute because the whole room erupted with cheers for her!!
Of course I didn't have my camera out quick enough, so I only caught the aftermath of the roll, but it was still awesome that I got to see it myself!! I took a video of her below, trying to get her to roll again. Naturally, she would not roll again and hasn't since. Either way, we still hit a milestone and had a great time, as usual, at the Mommy Group :)
(You will have to ignore the other mom's and babies in the background)
